Tanqueray,

Yeah...if the filter of the AEM is in fact in the bumper (pretty sure it is), you have to remove the bumper, or at least the wheel well splash guard to clean the filter.

But, the good news is that the K&N filters are designed to run for at least 25,000 miles of harsh use until the next full cleaning.
