Default Service bulletins: only done free when car is under warranty?

Yes, what is the usual practice here: do the dealers charge to do this work after the warranty period?

Nope. There's no catch on this since it's not specifically a warranty issue. You can do those with 100's of thousands of miles for free.

Service bulletin repairs are only free when you are in the 3yr, 36K. It is printed on all SB to contact the DPSM for eligibility out of warranty for approval before repairs. Your car also must fall in the range for the SB, and have the symptoms described. So no 02's with a clutch buzz, because the 02 already has the updated disc. Recalls, are completely different and can be done out of warranty.
