The edge of my belt tensioner is cracked. I don't know how or when it happened, but other than that it is spinning smooth. Am i safe to leave it as it is for a while?

^need to know which part.
If its the pully. Easy cheap fix. Just source a new/used one and replace. If its the housing still a fairly easy fix. Just source a new/used one and replace.
However i would not recommend driving if either of them are cracked. If it decides to fail not only will you drop your belt but also the housing and that could be tossed around and do further damage to other things.
