Default serpentine belt and auto tensioner trouble

So I am moments away from finishing the rebuild on my motor and I can't seem to get the day serpentine belt back on. Isn't it supposed to just easily go back on? I have turned the auto tensioner as far as I can and the damn belt just wont go around all the pulleys and what not. Any tips or pointers?

Stupid question. Are you putting the belt over and under the proper pulleys? Maybe your just missing something simple, should very easy to put back on. Is it the correct belt?

Which pulley are you trying to do last? The smaller the pulley, the easier it will be. I used the alternator pulley since its small and very accessible.

are you using the same belt? loop the belt around all the pulleys except tensioner and alt. have someone else hold down the tensioner while you wiggle the belt around the last couple. took me like 5 min
