Your engine is not the only mechanical device in your car.
There is the transmission, differential, other mechanical components like the CV joints, wheel bearings, up to a point the brakes and lets not forget the tires.
They all have an operating temp.
Your car is best served to get all those components to operating temp at the same time.
Driving is the best way to do that, it takes less time too.
And...
Your transmission has its own oil pump.
That pump is driven of a gear next to the secundairy reduction gear on the countershaft, IOW, it only pumps when the car is moving.
Idling a cold transmission for a while, with all transmission oil at the bottom, means the primairy shaft is spinning at engine revs with no fresh oil supply, just the oil that was left on it and some fresh oil that is splashed up by 1st and 2nd gear is reaching the primairy shaft bearings.
IMO that's not an ideal situation.
A 0W-30: yes.
A 0W-40: yes.
Don't forget: at operating temp they are just as thin (or thick) as a 10W-30 or a 5W-40, the 0W has to do with the oil being cold.
The 30 or 40 with the oil being warm.
A 0W-30 is IMO the best oil for the S2000.
Why is it bad to let you car idle to operating Temp(3 bars)?
I thought you were supposed to.

And 0w oil is good for very hot and humid climates???

^^^ thanks for the info , did not know all that.
Is using a 10w-30 not good?
Is there any where i can find 0W-30 castrol oil-(German)?
I cant seem to find it anywhere.
I have always used castrol in my S and dont think it would be a good idea to change oils after running one brand for awhile.
also does the 0w-30 come in SYN?

IMO you can do better with modern oils.
Better as in: better oil flow at lower temps achieved with 0W-30 oils.
Not necessary.
It is perfectly ok to switch brands.
IIRC Amsoil series 2000 0W-30 is a true syn oil.
There was a post on an oil forum not that long ago about the "law suit" that Mobil1 filed against Castrol for using the words Syntec and "full synthetic" for dino oil.
First: it wasn't a law suit but
Mobil1 "lost".
Your Castrol Syntec may have been dino oil all along.

You can spend days and days reading on that forum about all kinds of oils.

First: it wasn't a law suit but
Mobil simply filed a complaint with the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau about false advertising.
This ruling has no "legal" standing. It merely means that as far as the NAD is concerned, an oil company is not falsely advertising an oil as "full synthetic" if that oil is made from Group III base oil.
