Default Is this a serious issue???

I dropped my car off to have the brakes pads changed and fluid flushed...When I came back in he was still working on the car. Unfortunately, I noticed he had already changed the front pads...THEN he flushed the brakes...THEN he installed the rear pads.

What possible damage could have been done if any? Also, can someone also briefly explain why all pads have to be changed BEFORE the flush?

Thanks,

Huh?

Flushing the brake fluid has absolutely nothing to do with changing the brake pads. They're not related in any mechanical fashion whatsoever. You can certainly do one without having done the other.

Relax (and be thankful you knew enough to bring your car to a mechanic).

actually, that maintenance really isn't all that painful. pull out a helms and be maticulous about following the steps. i'm not saying this from a experienced mechanic's point of view cuz before my S, i had only changed the oil in a car once before.

It doesn't make a difference which is done first. The only thing I can think of is, if you replace the pads after the flush, you might need to readjust the brake reservoir fluid level.
