Default sensor?

As i was changing my oil today, I had to get a pair of channel locks to take off the damn filter. And in the process i hit this plug thats right below the Vtec Solenoid. i would like to know which sensor this is so i can go to an auto store and get one.

thanks
-mike

it may be the dummy oil sensor. not gonna find that at autozone. Take a pic or explain clearer. You owuld need to go to the dealership for that one although its not that important.

well, the car has a rough idle when i go to stop. and then it clears up. After that if i try to take the RPM's up it wont go past 6200 like as if it were in SAFE mode? it might be a temp sensor, being that its scewed right into the same housing as the Vtec soleniod and vtec plug.

Do you have a CEL? you may have a p1259 vtec code which won't allow you to go over 6000rpms. Its all the vtec control solenoid/switch in that housing.

It's not a "dummy oil sensor"

It's the VTEC oil pressure switch.

In the opening post he said "below the vtec solenoid" so I was thinking he meant the plug below the vtec unit.
This is why I asked him for a more descriptive answer.

and it is below the vtec solenoid and the green plug. prob about 6 inches below. it appears to be screwed into the same housing as the vtec items above. and just below the broken sensor there is a cap with 2 bolts on either side. ill try to find a camera...

You would need to pull the code to be sure. Which is why I invested 130 bucks in an obdII scanner. Not only can it read the code you can clear it aswell.
Its probably the oil pressure switch which is a dealership item unless you can find an s2000 at a junk yard.

Easy question to figure out what you broke..

How many wires to the plug?

1 wire = oil pressure sender for low oil pressure light

2 wires = VTEC oil pressure switch.

Next step is to buy an oil filter wrench instead of channel locks.
