Second gear pop out fix?

Second gear pop out fix?
I have an issue where my 05 s2000 will pop out of second gear during engine breaking.
I read that you can fix this problem by using a 50:50 mix of Honda MTF and Amsoil Syncromesh MTF.
Here is the link.

I a curious if anyone here has tried this and if so did it work? Do I risk any damage by trying this?
Thanks

what's done is done
syncromesh type of mtf can make a slightly better but there's no fix in a bottle
I personally swore by GMSMFM, it's kind of pricy, hard to find(lol..not joking here) and doesn't last long
you can try it, make sure it's GL4 and proper SAE weight then you are fine.
i wouldn't think it will go away completely but the right fluid helps, i was having problem in my DD with gear stucking in reverse, switching to Redline MTF fix it for good(as recommend by millions of miata driver)
worse case you are down 40 bucks

Anyone have a rough idea what it cost for a tranny rebuild?
thank u much.

Thanks for the help.
I will try changing the fluid first just because its inexpensive. Maybe I will get lucky. I will let you know how it works out.
I will also start saving my pennies to get the transmission fixed.

If you go the rebuild route, the gearset for 2nd is $330 by itself. Replacing a few bearings and seals while you're in there is probably another $100, so you're looking at $430-450 just in parts.
