time to check the shifter bushings. did you change your clutch fluid ? you can just gravity bleed it as well. if youve never changed it, that fluid is probably black and well over due.

Another piece of advice that was given by Billman was to rev to about 5k RPM before shifting. I rev to 4,500 RMP gradually before shifting from 1st to 2nd, and the crunch is significantly reduce or not even there; there is a slight notchiness but goes away aft 15 min or 10 miles of driving. Good luck!

works for me and I drive a 2007. I also adjusted my clutch play recently and I think that helped a bunch too.
It's my understanding that it's supposed to feel somewhat notchy, since there's no linkage or cables to dampen the feeling of the shifter/gearbox.
