On my my 06 i notice a slight click when i shift from first to second, it's not a noise, just something i feel in the shifter. it feels almost like the syncro is not quite right. does anyone else have this problem?

I'll have it checked at the dealer on the next checkup, but i was wondering if this is normal.

I believe you are worried about nothing and taking it to your dealer will only result in ............................. from the service guy. This is not like any other manual transmission you have driven before unless you have driven another close gated 6 speed.

I have the same issue too but i'm under the impression that its normal for this car.

i have it too. 2nd gear is harder to engage or click/crunches when cold than all the other gears.

Same here. From what I understood it's the extra synco's doing there thing.

2nd gear and sometimes 3rd gear are notchy. Assuming you're not talking about a full out grid, its normal for this car especially on initial cold startup.

With this car, you can feel everything that goes on with the tranny through the gear shift lever. The transmssion definitely feels very mechanical and gives lots of feedback on whats going on in there.

My '04 has done the same from the very begining. The only thing that I have found to help is double clutching into 2nd when cold, and frequently changing the tranny fluid, currently I'm running RedLine MT-90 with a MTL chaser.

I appreciate the feedback. I just wanted to be sure, its been a few years since i had a direct shifter mounted in the tranny.

My new '06 (only with 600 miles on it so far) exhibits this behavior. Having been in Honda sales for nearly a year, I drove many '04 and '05 S2000s. They all exhibit notchy shifts into 2nd and 3rd. When the tranny gets warmed up, it goes away. I expected this to be the case with my '06 so I'm not surprised. Just a normal trait of the car.

For what its worth. . . Another thread a while ago recommended letting the shifter slide a liitle to the right as it passes through neutral, then back to left and down into 2nd. You can exagerate this by letting the spring take you all the way into the 3-4 gate, then down to 2nd. I was very skeptical, but it works well, even on a cold gearbox.

The theory was to let the shifter find a natural path, rather than forcing a straight pull.
