Seatbelt issue
Does anyone know if it is common for the seatbelts to just STOP retracting? I did a search and didn't found stuff kinda like this but i going to ask anyways.
My car has been in for a top replacement and have the radio repaired. After waiting for over 11days (long story, lets just say I bought the car on the 11th of may took delivery on the 16th of may, and the car has been in the shop since the 21st of may, I am not HAPPY!) I went to pick it up tonight so I can have it for the weekend (I gave them till 12:30 tomorrow (friday) to finish the radio repair)
Get in the car, start it up, go to put on my seatbelt and it is really tough to pull out. No signs of this issue the 5days I had it in my possesion. I think may be the seat is rubbing on it, kinda tipped back. Nope that didn't do it, before I know it I have all the belt in my lap and its not retracting. I call the garage guy over (it's 7:30pm) He looks at and says "I can't let you take it like that!"
NO KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!
I tell him that I want the car for the weekend and they have had the car for 11days for a radio!
So come morning they are going to look at it.
I am thinking it is installed upside down and the seabelt lock is causing it to not retracting. But it sounds like there is a power connection for the seat belts would that cause this?
Well atleast I am hoping that is all it is. I will be so pi$$ed if I don't have the car for another weekend! I already missed the beautiful holiday weekend!
So wacha guys think? Is it common or is my thought founded?

that was a recall for the earlier S2K's from what dealerships have told me. Take it in to the dealership. They will either fix it or replace your entire top with a new one. It happened to my '00

the dealership said the retraction/movement of the top affected the seat belts too. Trust me, it sounded wierd to me too. My original top was fine. Just affected the seat belts. So they fixed mine for free. Im just goin by what they told me. Hey, its worth a shot.

The recall states:
"Under certain conditions, the seat belt retractor
actuator can deform and cause complete or frequent
locking of the retractor. As a result the seat belt connot be used"
