I found out about standard seat belt fastener threads when I bought a S2000 that the PO had installed M12 bolts into. The fun thing is that this is one of those thread sizes (like 3/8 - 16) that will accept a Metric fastener "well enough" to thread in. And then will go ahead and strip when torque is applied.

I chose to cut out, reinforce, and re-weld. Its rebuilt better. Stronger. The $600 car.
