Seat Harnes
Not sure if this post belongs here or not, hopefully one of the mods will move it if it is not in the correct spot.
I find that the stock seat belt is not doing an adequate job of holding me in place during autox events. Is anyone using a harness with the stock seat? Where are the mounting points? Am I forced to go with an aftermarket seat? If I have to go aftermarket, is there one that has a lower seating position?
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks!

This topic has been discussed a lot. Adding harness to your stock setup is not a good idea unless you have a good roll bar, or you are a midget. You don't want to be strapped to the seat in the event of a rollover. Your head will become the rollbar. In my case my head is at the same height or above the stock hoops. You might try a better seat, they seem to lock you in better.

Thanks for the response...unfortunately my head is over the stock roll bar . Do you know of an aftermarket seat that lowers the seating position and fits the S2000?

Most of the aftermarket seats/brackets will lower your seating position, I think its around 1-2"? Might be wrong but its deffinatly lower. Still not a good idea to go with a harness with a lower seating position, you really need a good rollbar to use a harness safely.

I am going to be "trying on" (ie sit in his car with my helmet) a friend's rollbar in a couple of weeks, I think I have to go this route to save my head like you point out .

As an interim solution, you can use a baby-seat seatbelt clip to keep the lap portion of the stock seatbelt tight. Holds your a$$ in the seat as tight as you want.
