KT's car made 217.5 whp. This compares to 219 and 220 for two other stock 2002s.

Saints car picked up almost 2 hp peak with the Supersprint vs. last time. Past the peak he gained almost 4 whp.

Yes, in my experience the Mugen header will not gain any peak power, and will usually cost you 1-3 hp at the peak (8300 rpm - I lost 2 hp). After the peak you'll lose a little more power. But in return you gain a lot of midrange, particularly between 5000 and 7000 rpm, which is really critical.

I believe much of the top end loss can be offset with fuel tuning, or by going with the integrated Mugen setup (ECU, header, exhaust).

On Saturday I also tuned docofmind's car. He has a CAI, Spoon header and a Spugen exhaust :-). There were some nasty dips that we had to tune out with the VAFC. I think you'll find this to be the case with most modded S2Ks. You need a VAFC unless you go with the integrated setups from Spoon or Mugen where you get an intake, header, exhaust and ECU designed to work together. Its quite clear the Mugen ECU is designed to minimize the weaknesses of the Mugen header and maximize its strenghts.

I'd be willing to help in a gasket installation get together! Let's do it!

Pinky, I cut an anterior opening in the duct over the pinch area. I then 'rebuilt' the duct in this area with plastic pieces held by duct tape, making a bulge in the duct in this location. Sorry I don't have any pics of this.

The Spoon duct 'pinch area' is where the duct narrows quite a bit to fit between the car's painted cross member and the hood. With the Mugen hood, I am able to modify the duct without it getting in the way of the hood.

After I get the printout of the results, I'll know the max torque, etc., and try to post the printout.

UL might let us know, but I think your peak torque and hp look pretty good on that dyno, Jenner.

Thanks Prolene

Here is how she looks now:

Nothing like a lil "FI"

What are you guys using for the narrow and wide throttle settings on the VAFC? 10% and 50%? How does one determine what #'s to use?

Thanks!
