VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CONVERTIBLE PASSENGER VEHICLES. WHEN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS DOWN AND THE SEAT IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY BACK, THE SEAT BELTS MAY NOT RETRACT PROPERLY RESULTING IN SLACK IN THE SEAT BELTS.
Defect Consequence:
THIS SLACK CAN REDUCE THE PROTECTIVE CAPABILITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE BELTS AND INCREASES THE RISK OF INJURY TO AN OCCUPANT IN A CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CONVERTIBLE TOP COVER TO PREVENT INTERFERENCE WITH THE SEAT BELT.

---- My question is, do they replace the entire soft top to fix this? I just noticed this on my car since im tall and have to have my seat far back, so what you think? my soft top is all slashed so if they replace it for free that would be sick.

The recall has absolutely nothing to do with your torn top. They are not going to replace your top because of a recall that affects the operation of the seatbelts. The recall clearly states:
"VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CONVERTIBLE PASSENGER VEHICLES. WHEN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS DOWN AND THE SEAT IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY BACK, THE SEAT BELTS MAY NOT RETRACT PROPERLY RESULTING IN SLACK IN THE SEAT BELTS."
You have an 8-year old convertible. Tops wear out. Good luck with it.

It's a replacement tonneau cover, not a replacement top. No Free top.

I looked close at my car when my seat was back and the top was down, and itis actually the frame of the top pushing against the belt causing it to not go back, so how else would they fix it other than replaceing the frame ?
