Default Seat belt doesn't retract

Hey guys,

My driver's side seat belt doesn't retract fast enough. When I unbuckle it, it sort of just stays there until I guide it through the plastic hook and then it slowly pulls it back. It looks like whatever spring mechanism rolls the seatbelt back has worn out? It's a bit annoying when I'm in a rush, I either have to push it back, or throw it over the seat and watch out when I close the door. Is it easy to replace this?

Thanks,

It may very well have a lifetime warranty.

Maybe not officially, but many dealers will do the seatbelts (reimbursed by the Mfr I hear) to avoid any liability lawsuits.

Or, the warranty may be an actual real lifetime warranty.

arent dealership suppose to fix those issues for free?? check your warranty manual

google search comes up with

Warranty Coverage
Honda will repair or replace, at its option, any Honda seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use. This includes all parts and labor charges.

and

Time Period
This warranty continues for the useful life of the vehicle.

Safety device like seatbelts have a lifetime warranty, unless you purposely rip the hell out of it.

"U.S. Models
Honda provides a lifetime warranty on seat belts. Honda will repair or replace any seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use. Please see your Honda Warranty Information booklet for details."

Dealer will probably tell you it's normal (friction from the belt guide), but if you want you can point them to this TSB:

Basically all they do is lube up the belt fabric, which is fine if you don't mind a little grease on your clothes.
