Scratching rattle after start up noise

It's either the timing chain tensioner (TCT) or the starter. See starter sticking.. This topic comes up at least once a week so many many threads on exactly what you are describing already. But it is 1 of the too. I have the same noise. I believe mine is the starter sticking.
But both of those things typically happen after first cold start up, if the TCT is reall bad it wont matter, but this isnt the scenario being described pretty consistantly. The started issue happens when the selonoid is slow to react due to the cold temp, it then grinds on the flywheel teath giving off a sharp squeal for a split second.

maybe your just holding the engine start button a little longer then u would when its cold..

^^^ Not in my experience with that problem. Only happens when its cold out, like sub 30 degrees in the winter.
