Hey guys.

I was just wondering how many of you do not bring your cars to Honda for scheduled maintenance. My mechanic at the tuner shop is much more skilled with the S2000 than any of the Accord-fixers can be, and I like him to work on the car. Would Honda make a big deal out of this if I have warranty issues in the future??

Thanks.

Honda actually called me last week and asked me why I didnt take the car back for maintenance...

"why should I? the mechanics suck at the dealer, so you want me to take my car back so some of you punks can get a joy ride?"

Most of the people here probably (especially that look at this Under The Hood subboard) do the maintenance themselves. I like to because it saves money and gives you the opportunity to learn about your car. If you don't, then I think you are smart to take it to someone that you trust. Many people here have experienced firsthand the mechanics at many Honda dealerships not have adequate knowledge about the S2000. Honda mechanics putting in the wrong differential fluid seems to be especially common. Just make sure that you keep your receipts and documentation about what was done. Make sure they write down the mileage. This will prevent them from being able to claim that lack of maintenance caused a problem. And, just in case you didn't know, it is not legal for them to require that you have your maintenance done at the dealership or that you use Honda OEM parts.
