with your vtec set at 4000 rpm you do.....

blk turbo why don't you become a member? then you can post your stuff? What you're hitting here is " We've heard this before syndrome"....a guest or two come in act as shills and tout somebodies latest and greatest....they sucker in who they can and then suddenly stuffs not available or it doesn't work as stated.

If your builder wants to promote his product here, let him join as a sponsor, if he has what you say, this is the place to sell it.

If you look back thru the various post in here you'll find that turbo projects have not been the most successful ones in general. Even the turbo ground breakers in here like cjb80 can tell you what it cost to get to where he is on a stable motor and drivetrain platform. I can't tell you how many times I've read about how great someones new turbo setup is and then in a month it's "Parting out my S".

I still cannot find the times you said you posted in turbo4 at nopi. I can't even find where an S2000 has even placed other than mine and my run sucked.

I'm sorry if you thought i was a bit in your face....but you gotta show me and my 349 sae rwhp moves out pretty good.

Anyway it's an interesting discussion. Good luck with your car

You dont get snappy with a S/C unless your over 6000rpms

My Vtec is set at 4700 RPM, it should be even lower. At that engine speed I get pushed back in the seat pretty hard.

However, it's really not about the actual power available, it's the throttle response. When I say "snappy" I don't mean "floor it at any RPM and get whiplash". I mean when you get on the gas the power is absolutely instant. It's so nice in the corners as you can steer perfectly with the throttle.

Like I said before, I think everything about the S2000 makes me want a powerband that is as responsive as the chassis.

Ya, that is definately the great part of a S/C. Complete and immediate response when it's in a rpm where boost is made.

I still haven't figured out why they use turbo motors in F1 and I dont think any S/C though.

And yet in drag racing, at least in the top classes, they use superchargers predominantly. Wonder why?

Its probably nearly impossible to harness the exhaust of a top fuel dragster.

somewhere in the archives here is a description of what takes place in the combustion chamber of a dragster. It's pretty incredible reading. I think it was either cthree or krazik that posted it.

Kane I wonder if it has to do with the rpms the f1 engines make...maybe it's another f1 plot....

why can't we just get along
There have been heaps of discusions on this aldread.
It's all in the tuning and the strength of the drive train guys

My s2k drive train can't handle any sudden surge of power so it's a tad safer to select the sc route. It's noisier and not as convinient as the turbo. The power deliveries on the vortech and comptech systems are linear and great for track work. There is no sudden surge of power with vtec transition if the tuning is good

With correct selection of turbo size and tuning, the power delivery of a turbo system can be fairly linear. This combination is hard to achieve and can takes some amout of work and possibly damage of gearbox(es) and diff(s) before the goal is achieved. I was not and still not game enough to take this route. It's only for the brave and knowledgable

This is just a thought, Why a S/C when you can get a turbo for less and go faster?www.inlinepro.com just go there and look at the turbo set up. Or go to www.turbounlimited.com. My car is the black one on both sites. I ran a 12.8 @ 112mph with 320rwhp. Just think my tuurbo set up makes 75 more rwhp then a S/C s2k @ 5500 rpms. We both have the same top end power but I rape them from a dead stop. Now I have my new diff, 3in ext that Inline is going to make for the publ, and the 625cc injs. thats good for 456rwhp @ 18 lbs. GET A TURBO
Your right. The price has gone down. Nice car by the way. I would go with the UR turbo though since its in CA and thats where I live.
