SC vs. Turbo
#71
No I didn't. In fact I bought my SC used. I never said don't buy used and I challenge you to find it!
Perhaps you were reading my mind and slighty misread. When you thought I was thinking 'Don't buy used' I was actually thinking (edited by xviper). The mistake is understandable.
As for your parts list, well, your just a xxxxx! Both SC kits come with an uprated fuel pump and some of the things on there are fabrications of your addled brain.
You have posted your turbo for sale. You then tried to hijack a WTB:SC thread by posting that used SC's without AC cost more than $3500 and $1400 to install. I politely pointed out that used SC's generally go for less than $3K and generally cost less than turbos to install or you can do it yourself (as I did).
You then went on to mention that no engine management above FPR and MAP Limiter is required but also mentioned that you had managed to blow both a stock and built engine in your car. Sorry, I meant the lease companies car.
So not only are you rude enough to hijack threads, you also tell very easily proven lies, give bad information that could lead a buyer to engine damage, and break the conditions of your lease.
And then you have the hide to misquote me.
Look at my User No. mate! I've seen xxxxxxx like you come and go on this board and there's one thing I won't stand for and that's my fellow members getting ripped off by charlatans like you!

Used $2500 to $3100*
New $4500 to 5500
I paid $2500 for mine (Comptech no AC) in the US last August. Slow bought his for $2900 (Vortech), and the guy whose thread you tried to hijack got the one that was offered for $3100 (Vortech) but i think that included shipping and the VAFC as the offered price was $2900 plus shipping.
As for install an SC kit only requires the front pulley drilling and in the case of the Vortech, an oil return to the sump. Everything else is spanner work.
A turbo requires all the same things except the pulley work, but it also requires replacing the exhaust manifold and mounting and plumbing the front mount intercooler. So it certainly won't be cheaper than installing an SC.

I tried to stay out of this thread but the statement you just made just shows there is so much unfounded opinion that I had to come in. Have a good read.
