I'd personally want to minimise lag rather than just have a ballistic top end. Can anyone comment on how the UR kit is with regards to lag?
Usually some decent tuning can get rid of virtualy any lag from the turbo, I have a quite large HKS GT2835 ball bearing unit and that comes on strong from 2.5k and I am a "VERY long way off tuning perfection!!!

This debate SC v's TC crop's up more and more now and there isn't an answer to it "period" its just different strokes for different folks, I took nearly 2 years to make my mind up on what to get & admittedly the turbo route is a major PITA but it suits me better.

My tie breaker was that amazing wastegate noise which you dont get from a SC

Ignorant question for you S/C owners out there! I just ordered a comptech S/C with the cooler and I really want some kind of blow off sound, Is that wrong? I know it may seem childish but I want it damnit Is there a way of getting some kind of PSHHHHHHH! without loosing boost or am I just being stupid! also, what really are the important gauges to have with this system? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds! Nick

The Vortech comes with a BOV, which can only be heard when you shut the throttle when you are in boost. If you want to make the Vortech BOV louder, pull the filter. You do risk H20 and other dirt gumming up the works inside the BOV, and entering the intake. The Comptech AC has a flange for a BOV, I believe Tech2 did a group buy for the Turbonetics Godzilla BOV. (which has a unfiltered/un-silenced outlet) I'm not sure of the Bolt/flange pattern for the Comptech AC. If you would like, Pm me your email, I can send you a Vid of my car, through 1st and second gear. you can hear the BOV when I shift.

Is it silly? Yes. Is there anything wrong with that? No

The aftercooler comes with a hose fitting to bypass air back to the intake when not on boost.

You can remove this hose and block the opening to the intake. Then, the hose fitting on the AC can be removed (4 bolts) and leaves a mounting point for a BOV. I believe it is a Sard standard fitting so you shouldn't have a problem putting one of many BOVs on it.

Keep in mind that you are only boosting close to WOT and then only about 6psi.
