you took the word right out of my mouth too

This should work.
Custom make an electronic control boost wastegate for the sc.
T-piece it between the BOV and the intercooler (on the vortech system).
It's going to be expensive though.
How big is the turbo wastegate anyway?

A turbo wastegate takes up some room. I mentioned the POV because you can adjust it without electronics and it's cheap, $120 give or take.

A friend of mine has a similar setup on a supercharged taurus sho. I mentioned it before once. He is using an 18psi pulley on the car, but has it setup so that anything over 15psi will be vented to the atmostphere.

I talked to Chad about this at Comptech, and he said they couldnt use a BOV due to CARB getting all pissy about venting air directly to the atmosphere. The way the comptech is currently setup, its a self contained unit.

A centrifugal blower on a small displacement engine is a terrible approach to midrange, anyway.

So will venting to the atmosphere screw anything up?

Why would CARB get pissy about venting intake air directly to the atmosphere? It's a bit different to vent exhaust gasses to the atmosphere (like a wastegate might do) because exhaust gasses would have all the nastiness that the eco-friendly types want to have passed through the catalyst first. But, the intake air is just air. It hasn't been mixed with fuel yet. I don't see why they would have a problem venting that.

Yes, no one cares about venting a BOV to the atmosphere, even CARB.
