Default Is it safe to VTEC with 6.5 month old gas?

My S2000 has been stored since October 1, 2006. Yesterday I took her out for a drive for the first time. I kept the rpms below 4500 because I wasn't sure if it was OK to VTEC. I filled up the tank all the way before storing it with 93 octane. Should I buy a bottle of Octane booster? Take it easy on the first tank? Or start -ing right away?

No need to rev the engine right away. Just a matter of time before you go though a tankfull of gas, then go ahead and

Is there rationale for the recommendations or are you guys just erring on the side of caution?

Not being a smart A** but a genuine question.

Last I checked, gasoline doesn't degrade over time (otherwise there would be no giant gasoline containers).

Should be fine. Just drive it nice for a couple of miles to get the oil all over the components again.

I have heard of gas going bad over time. Gas could absorb moisture.

That's why I filled the gas tank up all the way. I only drove 6 miles on that tank of gas before storing the car.

i say you should just take it easy. It's better safe than sorry. Last thing you want is knock or w/e because the gas degraded.
