My current front rotors are cryo treated (I question if it makes any difference) OEM and I do notice that they develop a covering of tiny surface cracks after a track day (35 - 45 laps with braking from 130mph) but in 1000 street miles afterwards they are no longer visible. I carry an extra rotor to the track (I am on my second set after maybe 30 track days and 26K miles) but have not had a problem yet. Am I just lucky?

For some reason, the rear pads are wearing out a bit faster than the fronts, and the rear rotors are quite a bit hotter.

I've used the stock pads (faded after a few laps), EBC Greenstuff v4 (good pad, lasted 46 laps), and now the Ferodo DS2500 (good feel), with stock rotors all round.

FWIW, I resurfaced the spoon rotors and most of the cracks disappeared. I'll probably keep them to drive on the street (they look good), and change to OEM on the track. Still, we need a solution...

Melted boots and seals and cracking rotors is too a high a price to pay for no fade... The search goes on.

Yes, but have you tracked them? do they resist fade in a 30 minute session on a high speed track with heavy braking? From what I have experienced myself and others have reported, pads that resist fading will induce rotor (surface) cracks and melt a few things in the process...

well...i have been at the track (1/4 mile drag strip) and the day i went was empty, me and 4 other cars....i got 25 runs in a matter of an hour, and the rotors were great, no fade, no cracks, no substantial wear....

so far, about 4000 miles on them, and they are great.....

i have had some heavy runs with friends...ie: repeated stops from the 95-110 range down to 20MPH, and sometimes even stops!
