S2k safe coolant?
I really did try to search this topic.
Does anyone know of an S2k safe coolant in the average automotive store? I've seen warnings about silicates corroding the system.
Help!

I have an '00. This is the ONLY year that must be changed in the usual time frame. All other years has a 10 year coolant, however, many of us would not leave it in that long.
I changed mine out between 2 and 3 years. I went with a "long life" coolant. I elected to go with the MOPAR long life coolant. These are the red/orange type of coolants that last for 5 years. If you change from the "ordinary" fluid to a long life like Honda's own TypeII (which is still green) to other brand, you must ensure that you completely flush out the old stuff.
I see you have an '01. You shouldn't be ready for a change until at least 2006. If you are getting some for top off, you really should get the Honda TypeII. It's pre-mixed and ready to pour in without dilution. If you are changing to another brand, again, flush it out well and stay with a long life type of coolant. "Dexcool" is a registered trademark of most aftermarket long life coolants.

As a side note, Honda recently changed the color of Type II coolant to Blue. It can still be added to green Type II, they only changed the color.
