Mine was blinking when I turned the key on. It didn't go out like it should.

Yes there is a way to re-program but it requires a computer(usually one the dealers only have). If you only had it off for a few days that shouldn't be the problem. Mine was in storage for ~5 years! I thought its memory was wiped due to the temp fluctuations and time. Hope you figure it out.

hopefully ill be able to get a diagnostic machine at work tomorrow and have a play with it over the weekend, its annoying now as the weather was terrible when i started pulling it apart but now its not working its nice and sunny! just my luck!

Did you reconnect the ground wire that attaches to the back side of the head (by the firewall)?

yup that was the first thing that i checked, iv had it on and off, wiggled it about reattached it to make sure it was getting a good connection and still no joy
