S2000 Vibration at Idle
Recently did a transmission swap with clutch, After all set and done my car vibrates a lot at idle, I Have Megan Engine mounts for about 3 months and it was not that much vibration when I first installed mounts only after i did transmission swap 3 months later . My whole dashboard shakes while my car idles at 1000 rpm
When I looked under a car while it was running on lift i notice that my driver side engine mount had more vibration while passenger side had almost none
Also this might sound idiotic but I broke one of the bolts on Pressure plate when installing it.
Could this be vibration be due to broken bolt on P Plate or my engine mount ripped after transmission install?
One more thing when I was installing flywheel and p plate i rotated engine someway don't remember which way now , Is it OK to rotate engine backwards or clockwise without any issues?
Please help me out peeps I Drove car for a week after i swapped my transmission with this vibration. ill go to LHT Performance to have them take a look,

AS I read on different forums somewhere and asked few people who worked on cars long time. Said I should be fine since there are 9 bolts on Pressure plate
if its presume plate issues then how come it only vibrates on driver side mount. I hope my mount is not ripped.

Maybe I should re-phrase what I said. The broken bolt is a problem that could cause vibration. You are missing a tiny bit of weight from a balanced rotating assy. You might not feel it but for the cost of a bolt, you should have replaced it. A ripped motor mount will cause vibration but you should be able to check it easily.

Not to mention the plate can lift and warp where it has no bolt, especially if its one of the bolts and the end of a row. There are 3 rows of 3 bolts, They are not evenly spaced.
Do it right and put the proper oem bolt in, and stop listening to really poor advice.
That is just as bad as "cross threads are better than no threads".
You can rotate engine by hand in either direction no problem.

Also, Megan mounts are a lot stiffer than oem and cannot flex like them. If they cheated when doing the trans (forcing back of engine down in any way) they could have easily broken a mount.

Thanks Billman . I did transmission by my self it could be possible I ripped the engine mount.
Thanks for clarification on few things.
Is there anyway I can lift engine on huge bar to see if engine mount is ripped without taking mount off from engine?

You're going to have to get the trans off again anyway to fix that broken bolt issue. You should easily be able to inspect the engine mounts when you lower the front subframe. It also makes removal of the mounts much easier if you want to go ahead and remove them to inspect.
