S2000 Transmission/Motor leak
Recently pulled my transmission to replace my clutch and realized something is leaking. Its either my transmission input shaft seal or my motors rear main seal. My rear main seal on the motor does not look like its leaking so im leaning towards it being the input shaft seal on the transmission. The strange part to me is that it does not leak out. There is only Transmission fluid/motor oil (which ever it may be) on the inside. It has never leaked a drop to the floor in my garage. My real question is, is it noraml for the inside of it to be this greasy/oily on the inside?
On another note my transmission was overfilled at one point and may have causeed it to leak from the input seal.

Smell of tranny fluid is can sometimes be quite a bit different than engine oil. You have spares of both to compare?

The motor oil leak I had (that I thought was going to be a failed main seal) was actually at the very rear of the oil pan. Pulled and resealed the oil pan to solve the problem. Factory seal is probably going to hold but if the pan was removed at one point (mine was for revised banjo bolts) the reseal can be suspect.
