Default s2000 transmission fluid
i am about to change the transmission fluid. the honda dealer told me to use (honda hypoid gear oil (80W 90 ) . im wondering if anyone have used this for their transmission fluid change before? if not then which kind do you use?

That *might* work for the diff, but Honda MTF is what you want for the transmission. It is much lighter weight than the gear oil.

That's the first time I'd seen that bottle. 75W90 is differential oil. Honda dont sell diff fluids. YOU DO NOT WANT TO PUT THAT IN YOUR TRANSMISSION. wtf, how the heck does a honda service tech told you to use that. You should talk to the service manager and have those people retrain.

Don't even put that Honda Hypoid Gear Oil in your diff...it will kill it too...it's for the CRV 4wd.

Amsoil GL-4 Gear Lube...much better than the Honda MTF
