Default S2000 Running Rich. Old Fuel or O2 Sensor?

Hi Everyone,

I know I've got a clock reset thread going, but this is a different issue.

My Australian 2007 AP2 (so still 2.0L engine) smells of fuel a bit. So I think it is running rich.

I am wondering if it is because it has old fuel as the car has had very little use for months.

Also I've got that O2 sensor I need to replace (Engine Light - Replace Oxygen Sensor (Code: P2A00 HO2S (A/F SENSOR) B1 S1 PERFORMANCE)

Any thoughts?

Cheers

A/F ratio sensor is the front O2 sensor. On header pipe, in front of catalytic converter.

If your sensor is faulty the ECU will default to a rich AFR. Change the sensor and the code should clear and the car should lean out to correct AFR

The Ebay part (above) is not what you want for your year car (assuming its an '07 and DBW).

Nomenclature in important. We tend to make up hand names for things that often cause confusion.

The sensor just aft of the catalytic converter element is the Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Secondary HO2S) AKA Rear Oxygen Sensor. Part Nos. 36532-PCX-A01 thru 36532-PZX-004. (All appear to use the same part.)

The sensor before the cat (in the exhaust manifold) is the Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) AKA Front Oxygen Sensor on the 00-05 models. Part No. 36531-PCX-014

>>>>>The sensor before the cat (in the exhaust manifold) is the Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor on the 06 and later models. Part No. 36532-PZX-004 <<<<<
