S2000 running HOT
Hi, I just put a new motor in my 2000 S2000 and when the mechanic drove it everything checked out ok except for the fact that it is now running with 4 bars in the temperature gage instead of the 3 that it used to run before. Also the check engine light is on ant he said that the code said something about VTEC.
If anybody knows anything that can help me out please let me know.
I have spent a great amount of money on this car and I dont want anything else to happen to it.

Your going to need to get the exact code from the check engine light, as far as your car running warm...did you replace your thermostat when you put in a new motor?

That is a negative... at first he said that the fan was not turning on so he looked around and by switching the relay from the A/C and that got the fan working but at the 4 bars.

Probably has bled all of the air out of the system. If hes not a Honda mechanic and hasn't worked on many s2k's then he wouldn't understand how hard it is to get all of the air out of the system.
pull the code. it may be a p1259 vtec system malfunction.

I meant to say "hasn't" either way. check to see that all of your wires are hooked up correctly. If they are and none are broken then I will ask this.
Is the motor freshly built?
Do you have an oil pressure sensor hooked up that will read psi?

Yeah I just confirmed it... whenever the car is supposed to hit Vtec it stops... I am driving with no Vtec... how do I go about fixing that and if you could give a heads up on how to bleed the air out please.

to bleed the air out, the easiest way IMO is to go through a few heat cycles with the heater ON (this is important).. get up to 3/4 bars then let the motor cool all the way to ambient temp. the coolant will do the rest of the work itself. just make sure to top up your reservoir each time.
took me about 3-4 days.
