I think most people wouldn't think to immediately turn their car off if the oil light comes on.
Why wouldn't most people turn their car off when the oil pressure light comes on? Are they illiterate? Because the manual on pages 44 and 226 (for the '00 models at least) clearly explains that the light doesn't come on until oil pressure is dangerously low.

To quote someone artsy-fartsy, "The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read."

ok so my oil pressure was dangerously low. Meaning compression? So i pulled a coil out of cylinder 2 today, half of it was melted and the sparkplug had all 4 platinum tips melted off... so within the past month that happened. Got a new coil and 4 new plugs (just to be safe) car still wont start. All of the pullies turn, so i know the engine isnt locked and my mechanic came by today and said the top of the engine spins as well. We tested the plugs and each coil, none of them give a spark, so were moving onto ignition...

A LOT of second-hand S2000 owners don't get a manual (or can't find it in the secret compartment) and don't care enough to know that they can find it for free online.

Heck, a good chunk of posts here are from people too lazy to read through a dang FAQ at the top of the forum.

Get yourself a good mechanic or go to Honda to have it looked at. It will be well worth it to know instead of wondering or guessing. At first it sounded like you locked the motor, next like you have only a ignition issue throwing the misfire dtc's. I would like to ask "does the motor spin normal and sound like it has good compression" but you may not know what that should sound like. Just, if you can , take it to a honda dealer to have them look at it. They have every resource to diag and fix your issue. Hopefully you wont need a motor. How many miles does your car have by the way?

51k ap1. The motor does spin, it spins in increments of 3 if that helps. you can smell the gas on the new spark plugs so the mechanic ruled out the fuel pump as an issue... ill keep everyone posted.

just to to let you know u had the wrong spark plugs in,
the ones u bought that have 4 tips are well known here and you can pull up many blown motors from those spark plugs.
Those plugs weren't ment for high compression and how hot it gets, the tips get broken and score ur walls.

Ur engine just added itself to the list of many many engines that had this happen because of them. Always use OEM NGK spark plugs.
