S2000 High Beams

S2000 High Beams
I purchased a NFR 04 in July. The car is an absolute blast, but we all know that...
I did a search on headlights but did not come across this topic. If I missed it please advise.
The high beams do not appear to match the color of the low. There is a distinct "Yellowing" that occurs when the high beams are turned on. I was wondering if anyone replaced their high beams with a brand that better matched color. If so was additional power and relay circuitry required to do so?
Thanks in advance for your help.

the difference between the high and low beams is that the low beams are HID (high intensity discharge) lights, whereas the high beams are standard halogen lights.

Slyvania Silverstar headlights are about the best halogen bulbs you can get. Get a pair of those for you highbeams and they'll match the HID's a lot closer in color. The lens do have a slight blue tint, but they still put out about 20% more light over a standard halogen. Over in Europe the lens don't have a blue tint and they put out 30% more light.

Check out this thread:

This is something you might consider. Scroll down to see some comparison pics of the headlights on.

Import tuner has an ad for www.HIDExpress.com. It appears they have "HID Xenon Conversion Kits" for H1,H3,H4,H7,9004,9005,9006 & 9007 Bulbs. I do not know which type bulb we have or if anyone has attempted something like this.
Also, does anyone know the "Temperature" of our current system to match against?
Thanks again. Keith

Wow. As I have quickly learned - "Ask and you will receive" - is alive and well.
I'll do some homework on both replies. I am certain I will try one of these. This situation has bothered me since I first acquired my s2k. I am new to HID. My only experience is with halogen aftermarket headlights in my last two Camaros. How things have changed...
I appreciate the effort.

I've got a set and their the next best thing to installing a HID conversion for your high beams (but about 1/10th as expensive). There are HID conversions available for the S2000's high beams ... just not worth the extra mula (~$350). The Silverstar bulbs are available at Walmart and cost about $18 each. Don't buy the cheap knock-offs, they burn out in about a month.
