Default S2000 doesn't change gears

Hey guys,
Just recently i come into to a problem with my S. Ill do my best to describe it.
Whenever, I step a little harder on the pedal and change gears the car itself doesn't change gears fast enough. It take about 2 extra second for the rev limiter to drop and start climbing again. If i drive normally under 4k rpms everything is just fine it only happens when i add a little extra power. Any idea what this could be? I checked if it the throttle cable was getting stuck but that wasn't it.

If your car is a 2004 or later it sounds like the clutch delay valve.

You can change it; a search should come up with plenty.

What year is your car??

Sounds like CDV, and that's just something you either have to adjust to or remove..

If it's a 2000 you don't have a cdv..

I'm not sure what problem you are having but your clutch might be slipping..

SOunds like the clutch is goin... try putting it in 6th at about 45mph, then floor the gas pedal and see if it hold the power or if the clutch slips. if it slips you need a new clutch

Well actually today I was driving at 45mph and floored at 5th gear and the rpms climbed but no power. So sounds like a clutch right?
