Dawn from ACT said so.
Please don't shoot the messenger
BTW, this was discussed in a previous thread, maybe a search of the past months threads could shed more light on the subject.

4373,

What am I missing here? I went to the web page and looked at the part number for the S2000 disc, and it doesn't have any suffix at all. The p/n is "HSD2000". Looks to me like an unmodified disc.

Now, the Prelude disc shown above p/n HSD806S does have an S suffix, and the description also says "with Hybrid lining".

My clutch has started to "lag" in first gear as the service tech called it, not slipping as I deemed it. Anyway service rep at my Honda dealer said that since I was out of my 12/12 warranty period that getting the clutch fixed under warranty might be a problem unless he could get the district service rep to ok. I told him the clutch and after smell started after I had the 1st into 2nd gear grind which was more like a "can't go there" instead of a gear grind! He asked that I have some names of other S2000 owners and dealers that have had the clutch repair done and especially those that have had it done outside the 12/12 warranty period! He is going to have to take the tranny down anyway to fix the 1st to 2nd gear grind so his position is that without the gear problem I might not be standing in front of him asking for a clutch repair and I agree!
Many Thanks!!!!........Jay

Dave,

Here's the scoop. I talked the guy at Nippon Power (Robert) about it this morning, before ACT opened up. He looked at the disc, and compared to an Integra hybrid disc, the implanted material looks different. According to him, it is yellow and does not look like copper. In his words, it looked like "some kind of yellow fiber".

Well, this wasn't enough data, so I had him call ACT and he confirmed that the S2000 disc is a FACTORY disc and in no way modified. ACT also does not have any plans to make a hybrid disc for the S2000 at this time.

I did not call ACT myself, but in light of RT's findings, and this, I would have to believe that your disc is Honda stock. Do you have a picture of a factory disc that is different from the one you got from ACT?
