Default S2000 Alarm fault.....

Hi Guys,

Intermittently the alarm sounds when starting the engine. Doesn't happen in any particular conditions or times, very annoying!!

Any ideas??

Many thanks!!

Idk if this is the same type of issue, but my dad drives a Passat that locks itself after a few seconds of being unlocked by the remote, so when you went yo start the car the horn would give a short honk and then realize the key is in the ignition. this is probly not your issue but i have seen it of a few other cars.

Chances are you've got an aftermarket alarm installed in the car. remove it, problem solved.

Or if there is a "key sensor" wire loose somewhere along the column or the alarm brain itself..

The alarm controller under the dash is loose. Tighten the plug and it will go away.

Thanks guys!

It is a standard alarm, is the alarm controller on the near or off side?

US spec cars didn't come with security from Honda. I have no idea what came on UK cars. considering the alarm is sounding with the car running, it's not much of a theft deterrent and most likely an aftermarket installation.
