i apologize for the grammical error. funny thing was i had a date and was in a rush. well i have a 02 with 39600 mi on it. exactly a month ago i changed my oil with mobil 1 and fill the motor up to the reccomended specs. now, a month later my as i checked my oil, there was only 1/4 left on the dip stick! I did however feel some oil on the bottom of my oil filter a couple weeks ago. and im curious to see if thats part of the reason.......thanks for all the replies
Hey alright, that makes a lot more sense. If you only showed a 1/4 left on the dip stick this meant that you only burned about 3/4 of a single quart of oil. If you're getting oil under the filter this means it's not on tight enough or the gasket is torn. When you removed the old oil filter during the oil change did the gasket come off with the old filter?

There are several cases on here of oil filters coming off while the car is running, this is extremely dangerous and can cause a fire in the engine bay and can also severely damage the engine. Get a filter wrench and torque the filter an additional 3/4 turn after you get it as tight as you can with your hands. I would recommend using the factory Honda PCX filter if you don't already have that. Good luck.

my car burns like 4/5 quart of oil in like i'd say 500 miles ...now you gotta realize my driving habits and other factors....

1. i vtec atleast 40 times a day and don't think i've ever driven it without vtec'ing...come on its a sports car f'in drive it already...

2. my car has slight piston slap when its cold...you can hear it...honda engines are known for it..when its warm it doesn't do it but i would assume that when its cold the pistons aren't shaped correctly and are letting more oil through

3. my normal route that i travel each day includes 6 hardcore right turn on/off ramps on the highways...and i've seen my car blow smoke when i floor it half way through the turn its normal(i've heard stories of people doing autox's get flagged down because the people who watch for engine fires thought the car blew up roflmao )

4. it didn't burn this much oil when i used dino/mineral oil..only started to really suck it up this bad when i switched to synthetic...i think i'm gonna go back to dino also i use 10w30

5. its an ap1..i mean come on this is normal the manual states to check the oil EVERYTIME YOU PUT GAS IN IT...lol wtf do you think its gonna do.

i'm gonna invest in krankvents and i think those combined with summer temps and dino oil will virtually eliminate my oil blow by problem. either that or i need new piston rings rofl oh well

I installed Krankvents a few weeks ago, and mine hasn't been burning any oil. I was pouring 1qt almost every 1000 miles.

Checking your oil level once a month with an AP1 =
The consumption seems ok though.
Krank Vents may help you too.

There's a special for s2ki members on the krank vents:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=460033

Helped a couple hundred S2000, Evo, Mazda Speed, STi, Ferrari, and a ton of other cars reduce their oil consumption problems entirely.

I was consuming about 1.5qt every 1000miles. Installed the Krankvents (from automotive speed) and so far about 500miles and less than 3 tablespoons accumulated in my homemade catch can (installed at the same time). Definitely worth the $$, if you save from buying 20 quarts, these things pay for itself. I would also suggest a seafoam or Honda Top Engine treatment when you do the krankvents to clean some of the residue from the oil consumption

F20C2 ("9k") on the 2006 EUDM S2000 also doesnt burn a drop of oil.

its pretty new

my 06 is at 6400 miles, and i did burn some oil during break in, maybe 3/4 of a quart between 4-3000 miles. after my oil change at 3800 miles(castrol gtx), i havent burned a single drop. any newer ap2 shouldnt burn much oil, if any at all.
11,000 miles on my 2006, haven't burned a single drop of oil.

I'm almost positive you took an incorrect reading -- too hot, had sat for too long, inclination, didn't wipe properly, etc.

You're probably expecting the car to burn oil after owning an AP1
