Thats exactly what I was thinking because It would only happen only sometimes when I was shifting as fast as possible not realizing I was not letting off the gas before pressing the clutch. When i replace the clutch I'm swapping in a ap1 flywheel or maybe even lighter. Thanks guys!

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have the same issue with my05. So I do want to remove my cdv and so a lightened flywheel. Are there any other good options besides the ap1 flywheel? My car only had 30k but was wondering if I should replace anything else while doing the flywheel. I will be paying for the install and not doing it myself.

Like Billman said, the AP1 flywheel would be an excellent upgrade. Removing your CDV is also endorsed by Billman (I believe, don't quote me but search for the topic and read his posts). IMO (as well as many others) it's stupid that Honda put it in the car in the first place and was essentially put there on 2004+ models (POSSIBLY very late production 2003's?) because Honda apparently didn't think that the people buying S2000's knew how to drive a manual gearbox
