Hey Guys,
I want to start out by saying that I changed my oil the other day. I was experiencing excessive consumption on ELF 5w40 synth. I put Castrol 10w30 synth in the car and have driven 1000 miles since the change. Three days ago I noticed a strange buzzing that i've never heard before. I can only hear it with the windows up.
The sound is similar to someone blowing really hard through a straw. It gets louder as the RPMs climb. It is coming from the passenger side foot-well of the car. I checked to see if the weather stripping was allowing the passenger door to adequately seal. Its almost a sound like a door isnt shut all the way.
Everything seems ok and the car isnt down on power at all. I have ordered a new TCT just to be safe.
Can you guys think of anything?

Cancel the TCT order. The TCT gets quieter as RPMs go up.
Can you post a vid so we can hear the sound?
Do you have an aftermarket radio or amp? If it sounds like it is coming from the foot well, it may be coming from a speaker. A weak ground or poorly insulated amp wires can cause the buzz you mention.
Also check to make sure your oil cap is still screwed on. They are notorious for backing out and lodging between the motor/tranny and firewall. That can buzz or clunk depending on how it lodged.
Also, you have an early AP1...expect to use between 1-1.5qt oil every 3k miles. It's "normal".
