Thanks for this cause I almost went on a little discount buy with somebody I know from work, which he is buying some cases at a discount prize. I'm sticking with Mobil 1, been using for a long time.

For note, my S2000's oil consumtion averaged a little more than 0.25 U.S. qts per 4,000 miles on Amsoil. The most consumption was with the Euro Formula 5W40 (a little more than 0.5 U.S. qts in 4,000 miles) and the least with Amsoil's 10W30 (right at 0.25 U.S. qts). I've used Amsoil 5W30 in the winter and my consuption was somewhere between 0.25 and 0.50 qts.
I eventually stayed with Amsoil 10W30.
I eventually stayed with Amsoil 10W30.

the owner of the machine shop we deal with says dont use it becasue its no good and he has asked countless costomers what kind of oil they were using before their motor blew and sure enough they were using RP. he says that it jsut wears at all of the bearings and eventually the clearance gets big enough to where the oil pressure gets too low and starves the engine.

The main point is that Royal Purple is an extremely over-priced, sub-average quality oil. I would put just about any dino oil in my car before I'd use RP.
If you're looking at synthetics: use Amsoil, M1, Redline, Delvac, or one of the other more readily available PROVEN oils out there.
People are so obsessed with being different that they'll try any oil with a flashy name and an hour-long infomercial in order to try and set themselves apart. Stick with what's proven and you won't have a problem.
Buy wheels or something if you want to be different. In the end it will likely be cheaper than taking a chance with the latest mystery oil.

A lot of good info on all types of oil products and their use in the S2000. More people should use this reference. Its good to go.
