Royal Purple?
My oil change is comming up, and i've been thinking about using Royal Purple 10w-30 for it. Has anybody ever tried using it in their car, for the extra two bucks, is it really worth it?

i used it and saw oil consumption go up, i switched to castrol syntec so far alot less oil consumption, as far as promised increases in certain fields i saw no difference. i guess to me the 2 bucks goes towards the coloring since it is purple lol

I wouldn't use Royal Purple. I had a bad experience with their gear oil a few years back, and the company does not back their product.
I would go with Amsoil, M1, Redline or any of the other oils recommended by Road Rage in the Oil Journals.

strange to see its not good on the s2k.
I had a friend that used it in a diesel truck and it held up much better than any others.
He was sending samples into a lab every 3k miles and it was coming back clean every time.
he had the same oil in the motor for about 35k miles and the lab said it still had good lubricity and very little metal content. It actually micro polishes the bearing surfaces. I looked at the reports myself because I didn't believe him and sure enough it was coming back good.
I was running it in my bike and miata and it did use but never had any problems.
