As above, got under the car yesterday to do my second oil change on my 99 s2k. i couldn't get the sump nut off because the edges have been fairly badly sheared. ecen broke a spanner trying to get it off.
Anyone point me in the right direction to where i can get a new sump nut. its a 17mm nut.
Will have to bring car to a garage to try get the old one off.
Help appreciated guys!

Most tool manufacturers make a socket set designed to remove rounded off nuts. I have a craftsman set I've used more than a few times. In a pinch when all hope is lost also, I've also used vice grips to get a stubborn, rounded nut off. Most auto parts stores have a accessories isle that has replacement drain bolts also.

if you can't find a replacement bolt, one option is to file down the flats of the bolt head to bring it down one size. so you're taking a rounded 17mm and turning it into a 16mm with new flat sides. i've done successfully this many times to rounded/damaged bolt heads i've come across. good luck.

very good idea! i just get a 16mm and hit it with a hammer until its stuck
and take it off
but i only have done that with wheel locks and not anything with/near the engine

who put that bolt on the oil pan, it is so much larger than the oem bolt, they probably cranked it on overly tight as a result. You're lucky they didn't crack the threaded portion of the oil pan it can happen and will ruin the pan for the most part.
