rough idle with check engine light
hey guys i have a stook with only 2100 miles on it and it has a real rough idle with the check engine light on. i first thought that it may have been the plugs but the car does not idle under 1000 rpm. the transmission feels fine i have no idea what went wrong has anybody ever heard this happening? i also checked the oil, and i had to add 2 full quarts, and the check engine light is still on. the car shakes at idle like one of the mounts had broke but why would a check engine light come on if the engine mounts broke? i have to take it on to get it looked at anybody know of a dealer that services our stooks well in san antonio, tx

Spaboy#5599,
Can you explian rough idle?
When I start my car when it is cold and tap the gas, the car feels like it's going to die when the RPM's return to idle...
Same thing with you?

sup phantom just got word from honda service saying that i had a cylinder that couldnt hold, or losing compression. he said that was the explaination for the idle being real rough, he also said he was going in further on the block to find the main oil problem. this really bites the big one, of course the sales manager offered us a loaner car, but what should be done guys? should i ask for it to be fixes with the heads out and everything everywhere or do i ask for a new motor? i properly broke it in at 600 miles, never even seen rain yet. has this happen to anyone? Im going to talk to the service writer tomorrow.
