Haha, Well it so happens that I live in salt lake city. I didn't have a rubber mallot so I took some old rubber floor mats and shielded the rotors with them before whacking them. I tried pushing the bolts through the hat and they broke loose fairly easily after working each side a little and giving it a light tap with a hammer. Thanks for everyone's help.
Awesome man I used to live in the North East and I tell you what rust can make a person extremely crazy. Want to get pissed off? Try pressing a wheel bearing out, and in without a press Oh the days of being a kid.

Would the matt torch heat the metal hot enough u think?
Mapp gas produces a flame temperature of 5301° F (2927° C) and 2405 Btus. Making it a good choice when a hotter flame is needed for example breaking a rust bond on a pipe or a large plumbing repair that is at least 2”.

A sledge hammer?

There is only one hammer you should be using for this purpose. It is called a "dead blow hammer." Learn it, know it, buy it.

You aren't going to warp a steel rotor by hitting it with a two pound dead blow hammer. So just whack away and those rusted rotors will break free.

Amen. My best hammer is my cheap-o orange hf dead blow.
