then go buy new rotors because you just bent/warped/divoted the thing by wacking it with a hammer.

you only sledge hammer the rotors when you're removing them and throwing them away. Rubber hammer will not break loose an extremely stubborn rotor. I don't think some of you guys have ever seen a really stuck one yet.
If you want to turn them, the best is to push the bolts thru the hat and pull them off the hubs as previously described.

Or just run a torch around the OUTside of the studs, and the rotor will grow/expand and come off by hand. You dont even need to get it very hot. Definitely not as hot as you would get it during normal driving.
It is stuck around the center hub. Heating in a circle outside the studs allows the heat to move toward the inner bore of the rotor, without heating the center hub of the car. Even a rotor that would not come off with a 4lb sledge will literally lift off by hand.

Haha, Well it so happens that I live in salt lake city. I didn't have a rubber mallot so I took some old rubber floor mats and shielded the rotors with them before whacking them. I tried pushing the bolts through the hat and they broke loose fairly easily after working each side a little and giving it a light tap with a hammer. Thanks for everyone's help.

Bill is right, but I've never gotten that far. Unless you live in bad salt country I guess. They sell map torches for 10 bucks at ace.
