woa, sorry bout your block, can you get any pics?

Like yogi said, first disassemble before you start doing anything. If the head has no damage, you will just need a short block.

Jason,
you can rent a U-Uhaul truck with a trailer for about 300 bucks..I think. Otherwise, if you know someone with a truck, just get a car dolly...also rentable.

Right now I am simply preparing myself for the worst possible situation. There was some sort of breach to the block that caused oil to cover my engine bay and the throttle body looks to be slightly displaced.

Steve thanks for the info on the Uhaul they are going to be one of my first calls tomorrow. I have no problem making the drive to insure that this gets done properly and I have no doubt Ganely will do it right.

I drove all the way there (9hrs) to have my 4.77s installed. Jeff and A-hole Joe (his brother) are top notch and do great work!

A used engine is most likely going to be the cheapest option. I'd start looking for at least 4K to start with.

UPDATE

I just got back from my 20 hour drive to and from Cleveland!

Turns out that the rod in cylinder 2 when through the block but the head is in good shape. So it looks like I will get the head refinished and pick up a new short block.

Have you ever ridden in a SC'd NSX??? I have and it was amazing. Just amazing... AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

hole in side of block? get new engine
. if your rod snapped that piston without a doubt smacked the valves and head pretty bad.

You're gonna need a whole new engine. A short block includes pistons, oil pump, water pump, etc. a long block includes the head too and is a full engine
