Your friend has 4.44 gears, so go for a drive in his car.
You may find out for yourself if you like 'm.
Hmmm...
I kinda "told you so".. didn't I?

Listen for speed dependant noises.
Ask what kind of oil is in the diff and how often it was changed.

Succes!

FYI

We used to sell 4.44 gears. It has been a few years since we sold them, but we did sell them. So he could be right.

Interesting. Must have been a long time ago. Were they J's?
I owe EK an apology then.

I think I bought my 4.44's from Ricks years ago. It is a definite noticeable difference over stock.

I bought Ricks 444's too. Mazda part# were right on them. 444's are a nice matchup with a supercharger.

I have a set of 457's now that are really too deep for the kind of power I'm pushing.
I'm probably going to put my 410 dif back on. Sideways warned me.

I would go back to 444's.Maybe I'll trade the 457 pumpkin for a 444.

I think I'd have it all cryo'd again. I haven't found anyone who's broken a cryo'd case yet.

So technically, one can't really call them "Rick's" 4.44s. They're Mazda 4.44s sold by Rick.
I agree about the 4.44's being a nice matchup with a S/C. I think an even nicer addition to this would be the AP2 tranny. (Harry knows all about that one. )

You are so right. The AP2 tranny, AP2 carrier housing, 4.44 gears, SC and water injection was just outrageous.......outrageous.
Damn it, Harry. You're making me feel sorry I didn't pay the arm and the leg for the shipping to get your old one up here.
