Default Revving on its own after start up

Hey guys- hopefully a "simple to answer" kind of question... but today after work I cranked up my car and suddenly the rpm's were going up and down rhythmically- from about <1000 to 3500. I checked for vacuum leaks and all of the hoses were fine. I did start it in 3rd which I don't normally do- this was the first time I have, actually. I don't see why that would be bad though. Thoughts?

P.S. The engine was warm (three bars) and after three or four cranks it went away and I drove home.

what he said^ I cleaned mine and took out the black electronic part of it and put the flap in the wrong way and it did that. Freaked me out. Definitely the iacv.. Theres quite a few topics on cleaning, should fix it. Otherwise youll need to replace it and i think it was like 150$.. But probably just clean it
