rev limiter question
#3
Almost all cars with a rev limiter will use some kind of fuel cut-off. Some may also incorporate an ignition kill. Since this is the case with all these cars, why are you so worried about yours? Suddenly shutting off the fuel at 9000 rpm is not quite like running "lean". You need "some" fuel to run lean. Having no fuel would result in no combustion. With no combustion, you can't run lean. You're just shoving air in and out of a pump.
Having the fuel shut off is not much different than you taking your foot off the gas pedal. In fact, every time you take your foot off the gas pedal to decelerate, the fuel shuts off. I think you are worrying about something that's very normal and inconsequential.
