Rev Limiter kicking in at 7K RPM
Was wondering if anyone has some insight on this occurrence. I took a short ride in my 2002 AP1 a couple days ago and tried to accelerate hard into the 8-9K RPM range but the rev-limiter started kicking in at 7K RPM which took me by surprise.
The only unique circumstance was that the engine probably wasn't all that warmed up - I'd only driven about a mile at the most. (Obviously, that's a poor decision on my part but I wanted to give a fun-loving 7-year old a quick spin in the car.)
Do you think the cold engine would account for the rev-limiter kicking in so early? Any other ideas? Would hate to see this occur on a track day!
Thanks!
